If it's about HL mods, overall I prefer The Specialists

it's a deathmatch game, and they have bots included.
It depends on what style of game you like playing...
BTW this thread doesn't belong to a developers forum (SDK is for developers) -- I'm moving it to "FPS gamers"

Akimbot works good for Action HL...
And yeah, HPB supports opposing forces CTF, and there's another one... wait, doesn't RACCbot support it???
My fav mod, isin't for HL, but for Unreal Tournament (UT :P ) it's called Marathon|Rampancy... lol, omg, the funniest mod of all time. It's old skool Marathon FPS, revamped into UT! You get all the original Marathon guns, some levels too, and fun bots! Lol, I just love King Of The Hill at that Duality level, with flamethrower arena... lmao, ooh man that's good fun. Keep you entertained for quite some time too. ;)
I wish someone would make it for UT2k3 or 2k4... or.. I wonder if I could just install it straight into those n' it could work... I'mma give it a shot, just cause I can. :D

The specialists looks suspiciously like a straght rip of Action, right down to using jump to kick, but with cstrike flavoured models.

Are the bots any good? (better than AHL doesn't count, they were terrible)

not bad, not bad at all :)
They're very fun. They have an automatic skill meaning that the more you frag them the better they get :)
And they're able to autowaypoint any new map automatically (just turn "botlearn 1")

Feels so much like a cheap rip of action.
Well, Action is vastly superior to the specialists, however the bots for TS are much better, so I'll play that.
If anyone wants to arrange a game however, I prefer AHL.
The weapons are better, the stunts more fun, the maps are better. (From a gameplay perspective, I liked bikini) I must say a lot of them felt like AQ2 rejects! ;)
The handcannon really bites in TS.
[EDIT] Just to clarify, the models are better, as well as the modelling of the weapons.

I thought akimbot was the default? Where can I rectify this?
BTW, I recently discovered I was playing Beta 5... nowonder there were no servers -v1 has been out since october! (To be fair I was away, and the "community" is no fun. Bunch of grumpy prats.)
The animations are smoother in TS, and I prefer its move speed.
Is it any good? I went away before it was released, but it was causing quite a stir in the action "community", so I thought I should ask.

funny how you slowly start changing your mind about TS... we can see the progress everyday :DThe death anims are terrible however. The weapons are a mess. Also the stunts are not well implemented.
The maps are still awfull.
The new maps are great for TS. The old maps are a bit tedious for me now since I see the contrast. ts_theatre & ts_neobaroque are my favourite. You should try the team maps too, they are more like CS though but its more interesting.
Actually they aren't amazing -remind me of cs_DEA. (but with worse flow)
I'll try those two maps for a bit more.
