Realbot + AMX

Now my question..I searched amx and found nothing. So i seek the almighty stefans help, my problem is simple. I follow all the nessecary steps for realbot and amx with cs 1.6 and i get the following error "Counter-Strike Application Error. "The instruction at "0x11df1b49" referenced memory at "0x1221a6f0". The memory could not be "read". Click OK to terminate the program."

Any help would be greatly apprecitated and I will return the favour in any way possible.


Realbot is the best bot I have used and I just don't want to lose it,

This is probably a problem with AMX. HAve you downloaded any AMX modules? Most modules don't work with the newest version of AMX.

I have RealBot (version 1.0 as well as the WIP version) running with AMX no problem. I don't know offhand what would cause the problem you're having (except for a problem with CS-Steam loading).

What I would suggest is to try to narrow down where the problem is creeping in as follows -

1 - Uninstall and Reinstall Steam
2 - Start a Counterstrike game and make sure it starts and loads a map
3 - Install MetaMod version 1.17 and then test Counterstrike again
4 - Install and configure AMX and then test Counterstrike again, also testing the AMX functions in the game
5 - DISABLE the lines in the plugins.ini file of Metamod that load the AMX DLLs
6 - Install Realbot version 1.0
7 - Configure Realbot version 1.0 to load using the old method of adding '+localinfo mm_gamedll dlls/realbot.dll' (without the quotes) to the command line for loading Counterstrike (under Launch Options for Counterstrike in Steam)
8 - Start a Counterstrike game and make sure it loads a map and that you are able to add bots
9 - Re-enable the lines in the plugins.ini file of Metamod that loads the AMX DLLs
10 - Start a Counterstrike game and test if Bots work and if AMX works as well
11 - If you have success with step 10, and you are feeling brave, then continue with step 12.
12 - Download and install the WIP version of Realbot
13 - Remove the option of '+localinfo mm_gamedll dlls/realbot.dll' from the Launch Options for Counterstrike in Steam
14 - Add the relevant line (most likely 'win32 ..\realbot\dll\realbot_mm.dll' without the quotes) to the plugins.ini file of Metamod to load Realbot with Metamod
15 - Start a Counterstrike game and see if it still works

By the way, step 12 should read -

12 - Download and install the WIP version of Realbot as well as the 'Realbot version' of Metamod

Also, I am not using any AMX mod addons (as far as I know). Here is my plugins.ini file -

win32 addons\amx\dlls\amx_mm.dll
win32 addons\amx\dlls\fun_ms.dll
win32 addons\amx\dlls\csstats_ms.dll

I have AMX and RealBot WIP installed just fine. But I get the same error when i have any bad modules installed. This is an extension to CybaWolf's list:

4.333333: If you get that error, disable any modules in your addons\amx\dlls folder.

4.666666: If that works, goto http://amxmod.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=22409 and download all the new modules.

This is helpfull information! I know for sure now that the new metamod.so file (at my site) works 100% and thus AMX has some bad modules. I'll keep this thread sticky.

ps: dominic all u have to do is add a listenserver.cfg file with the same thing u got in server.cfg (especially "exec addons/adminmod/config/adminmod.cfg")I already have a LsitenServer Cfg file bro and the only AMX modules i am running are the ones for the new WC3 mod. I'm Running AMX 0.9.8 too It's Pre ALpha but the bots never worked with 0.9.3 either..hmmm

hum go to clangw.com and use their server install but for you, install it to ...\steamapps\counter-strike

if u dont want superhero or the other things, read the guide...it'll tell u wat to do

it worked great for me

Thanks guys for all your help! I simply changed to WIP and it worked! I use WC3 Mod as well and its funny The bots even select races, lol
